Episode 42: 4 Ways to Embed a Discipleship Culture

In our last couple of episodes, we talked about what discipleship looks like from the pew, or from the perspective of members, attenders, and visitors. And we quickly identified that there is a gap between the pew’s understanding of discipleship and the pulpit’s.

Actually, we also discussed that the church is best equipped to connect with a disciple by reacting to their approach which is probably caused by an external stimulus  – for example, a young family starts having kids and the parents want to raise them in the church like they were, even though the parents only go at Christmas and Easter. Or a person has a life affecting event happen to them that causes them to turn to the church.

And then in the last episode we talked about ways to bridge that discipleship perception gap between the laity and the church. In today’s episode, we will look at 4 ways that we can embed a discipleship culture in the local church and not only bridge the perception gap, but get people walking over the bridge!

If making disciples proactively as Jesus instructed us is to be your priority, then it is imperative that the team you lead is casting the same vision.
