Episode 37: Jesus, the Proactive Disciple Maker

In today's episode, Charla and I want to explore Jesus’ disciple making process which was very proactive. We will look at the how, where, and when of Jesus' disciple making as well as the outcomes. Some examples we will discuss are Jesus calling Simon Peter, interacting with the Samaritan woman at the well, and with the Pharisee Nicodemus.

So what was Jesus’ process for making disciples? He paid attention to people along his path and he wasn’t afraid to travel to the non-religious places, to leave the beaten path. Nor did he set up an office in the synagogue and see people by appointment. Jesus met people where they were, even if it might be dangerous or uncomfortable. We refer to this activity as connecting and engaging.

Check out our conversation...

...Jesus addressed the problems these people were facing whether it was demonic possession or people living a life far from righteousness. Jesus always invited these people into a relationship with him to find life and not death.
